Baked Beans

Ingredients

    lb bacon, diced
  • 3
    large onions, chopped
  • cup brown sugar
  • ½
    cup vinegar
  • 1
    teaspoon salt
  • 1
    teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1
    teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1
    15-oz cans butter beans, drained
  • 1
    15-oz can nothern beans, drained
  • 1
    15-oz can kidney beans, drained
  • 1
    28-oz can baked beans, NOT drained
  • 2
    T molasses

Preparation

  • Step 1.
  • Fry bacon, remove from pan and crumble.
  • Step 2.
  • Saute onions in ¼ cup of bacon drippings.
  • Step 3.
  • Add sugar, vinegar, garlic, mustard & salt. Cover and simmer 20 minutes.
  • Step 4.
  • Drain butter, northern, and kidney beans. Mix with undrained baked beans. Mix in sauce, crumbled bacon & molasses.
  • Step 5.
  • Bake in 350° oven for 1 hour. Or cook in crock pot on low for 5-6 hours.
