Pie Dough

Ingredients

  • 4+
    cups flour (575g)
  • 1¾
    cups shortening (315g)
  • cup cold water
  • 1
    teaspoon vinegar
  • 1
    beaten egg
  • 2
    teaspoon salt
  • 1
    teaspoon sugar

Preparation

  • Step 1.
  • Using a pastry cutter, cut shortening into flour.
  • Step 2.
  • Dissolve sugar & salt into water & vinegar. Add beaten egg.
  • Step 3.
  • Add liquid to dry ingredients. Form into dough.
  • Step 4.
  • Roll out for pies or wrap in wax paper and store in refrigerator.
